Asian Drama Trade/Giveaway

As some of you may already know, I'm disposing copies of dramas that I've acquired through the years. I've gone and dug up a few more titles and updated the list I previously posted, so feel free to check them out and see if you might be interested to get a few of them off my hands.

All the dramas listed below are in avi format unless otherwise specified and there's only one copy of each because I'm not in the business of doing any distro. They're available for either trade or adoption which means you either swap for them or just request them from me for free. Preference will be given to those who live in Metro Manila, while those who live abroad will have to make special arrangements regarding the transfer of the discs. Why am I getting rid of them, you say? Well, there's just simply too many of them and I'm not in a position to re-watch these dramas, so it might be better to have someone else enjoy them. For any questions or concerns, you can contact me here.

  1. ey! Boardwalk is really really good! if your a fan of sopranos and breaking bad. although i havent seen the rest of the episodes due to certain immigration stuff, i've got a feeling that it's getting more interesting as the show progressed.

as to how ted met the mother, i dont really have a freaking idea as to when it will end. just stick to the fun ride. i think every week the title of the show change. haha..

  2. Hey jt! Nice to hear from you. I'll probably check out Boardwalk after Dexter's through. Been following that series since season 3 religiously-- which means asian dramas take a backseat since I look forward to it every week from September to December. Well, that and BBC's Merlin... yeah, I know it's kinda gay but it's a lot of fun :D

  3. Hello... hmm, I was wondering are your DVDs original?

    If they are, I'm interested..

  4. Sorry dear, they're not. If they were, I don't think I'd be giving them away like this, in fact, it'd be easier and more practical to get rid of them through ebay or something.

FYI, most of the ones listed in dvd format are fansubbed material which a friend of mine converted for her personal use (and then later on gave to moi) while others are copies of the originals.

  5. Ah.. I see, that's alright, then. I collect originals. I want to give Bambino and Koizora (the drama) away. Do you want them? They're original and they have Chinese/English subs and the audio is Japanese, of course.

The thing is, I had a bad eBay experience. I bought the DVDs, original, of course, but when it arrived, the cover was torn and creased and it was falling apart. Later on, when I contacted the seller, she said it was probably the Customs officer who did that.

  6. Sorry for the late reply, been having internet trouble because some punks stole some phone cables and now our block doesn't have any landline or internet connection. I hope they catch those bastards soon (argh!! waves fist in air*) for depriving our community of access to the world wide web. Oh, the horror...

Re your Bambino and Koizora dvds-- well, that's mighty sweet and generous of you to offer them but I wouldn't dream of taking them from your collection. Are you sure you're ready to part with these babies? :)

I'm sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience with ebay. Must be frustrating to receive what you ordered in such a condition, more so, when you can't really tell whether the item was like that to begin with or if it's really the Customs officer's fault.

  7. Ohmygosh, they stole your cables! But, none of your family members are hurt right? Yea, but it sucks to not have internet. You feel like you're so disconnected, missing out on this drama and that drama.. Haha... The ones that I can't part with are Hana Yori Dango (the entire series and somehow I have 1 VCD and 1 DVD of HYD Final, Kurosagi, Galileo, Code Blue, Koizora the movie, Nodame Cantabile, 1 Litre of Tears and Last Friends, of course, if I had Dragon Zakura and Crying Out Love, in the Centre of the World, I would never let go of those either.

But, if you like Bambino and Koizora, you can have them.. Did you watch the drama version of Koizora, some seriously nice songs there.

I think the only way to ensure that they stay safe from the hands of Malaysian Customs is to send them by courier, FedEx or something?
Maybe they'll be more careful with it. It was most likely the Customs officers, because the seller received good reviews from most of the buyers..

Let me know, by the way, my real name is Zoe. It is.

  8. Ooh cute name, Zoe. Who would've thought I'd come across someone whose actual name is close to my nick. Thanks for sharing it btw, I mean therainhouse is nice, too, but it's rather more convenient and friendlier to refer to you as Zoe. ^^

My family and I are okay, it appears that the cables got yanked from the next street over. I think they're getting it fixed soon but it just irks me not to be able to go online whenever I want to. It is a bit disorienting not to be able to check out the latest episode/subtitle released. It's not like I'll get to watch them immediately but still...

And re the dvds-- I dropped by your blog and sent you an email about it. I have seen Koizora and I agree that the drama version had some really nice songs in it. It's one of the few things that's memorable about it. :)

  9. Completely understand. Glad your family's okay. Safety's important, as always. It is frustrating to not be able to go online. Thanks, you can call me by whichever name you prefer. therainhouse is more like you know that movie, The Lake House, the one with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. The house is made of glass and I was thinking if I had a house like that wouldn't it be great to listen to the sound of rain when it's pouring.. That would be one of my dream houses. And also because I like rain.

Oh, do you have any good drama themesong recommendations? I love Utada Hikaru's songs and have downloaded all the drama themesongs she sang. Also really liked Konayuki. ProDai's themesong is so awesome. Always on the lookout for good themesongs, but my attention has been snapped up by Sungkyunkwan Scandal, The Vampire Diaries and a few other shows.

    Looking forward to your recommendations.

  10. therainhouse is more like you know that movie, The Lake House, the one with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. The house is made of glass and I was thinking if I had a house like that wouldn't it be great to listen to the sound of rain when it's pouring. That would be one of my dream houses.

I see. Well, it would certainly be an interesting house to live in. I'm thinking it would be an architectural design marvel given that the glass should be strong enough to withstand the elements and it'd have to be equipped with a hi-tech system to regulate the temperature during the changing of the seasons. Not quite sure about how I feel about living in a glass house during stormy weather though... but I reckon it'd be pretty to see light rain pouring down through the glass panes. ^^

As for drama theme songs, I must admit I'm not quite the jpop expert/audiophile but some songs do stick out... Off the top of my head, I remember liking Okaeri by ayaka from Zettai Kareshi, Ryuuseigun featured in season 2 of Trick, also the Slow Dance OST-- Fukuyama Masaharu generally does great work composing songs with Niji and Tokyo being my favorites. Didn't like the latest single featured in the drama Mioka but I guess, it did fit the story.

I also enjoyed listening to Konomama, Zutto by Aoyama Thelma from the drama Q.E.D. and also found myself liking Honto wa ne from Seigi no Mikata (don't trust me on this, I might have just listened to it too much while working with Massuki). And of course, how could I forget-- Konya Tsuki no Mieru oka ni by B'z from Beautiful Life and Def Tech's OP and insert songs for Brother Beat. You might also want to check out the Long Vacation OST, it has that 90s sound to it but it also has a number of good tracks in it. :)

Btw, I also love the songs done by Utada Hikaru. The dramas where they're featured might not necessarily be the best out there (they might even suck) but the songs are just plain awesome.
