Holiday Buzz and Extra Clutter

Well, the holidays are here and I thought that I'd get more time to finish up all those draft blog posts I have had pending for a little over a month now but I could not have been more wrong in this assessment. As soon as December kicked in, life was abuzz with work, holiday preparations and Christmas shopping-- there simply wasn't enough time to mull over recent drama exploits especially when you're in the company of family and friends, let alone sleep as one should.  That being said, I do still plan to close the year with a few antedated posts which will be accompanied by some ill-conceived and sloppily constructed blurgs (provided I get some fansubbing assignments out of the way). For now, allow me to wish everyone the best this holiday season. And of course, for those who might be interested in expanding their drama collection or are simply planning on placing a few more shows on their viewing roster, here's an updated list of the stuff I have that's available for trade or "adoption".

W00t, more giveaway goodies! If there are no takers (yet), mind if you kick the following titles in my direction?

Pandora, Evasive Inquiry Agency, Taurung National Village & Mawang (my copy of Mawang has terrible subs @_@)

    Arigatou and komapta! XD

(I second Zoe's *like* of the Hotaru pic. Frazzled by the gazillion-things-to-do list? I wanna give you and Hotaru a big hug!)

  6. ^Thirded. I have noticed your piccies always reflect the mood of your posts, way to go! :D Do you cap them yourself?

Ooh I see you are giving Bad Guy away already? I'm presuming you did not love it as much as I did? (It's okay, even if you say so, we can still be friends ahaha xD)

    It's so cool of you to do this! Constraining myself at the moment though since I am snowballed under with stuff to watch already ...but may be harassing you laterz on^^;;;;;

  7. Jicks is crazy about Bad Guy!

E.G. You've got an endless list too? You people are so busy. Rush, rush, rush. Someone needs to add a few hours to your day.

It's great to have a still that reflects the author's mood and the theme of the post. Done well! As you know, I collect originals so sorry zooey, I won't be asking for any of yours. =)

  8. @ E.G. - Thanks, girl. I hope you and your family also enjoyed the holiday season. Christmas for me was fun and tiring at the same time. It also didn't help that the computer at home died on us and it took us a week or so to replace it because we crammed December with every errand imaginable (from visiting relatives, baking holiday treats, getting our passports renewed to watching the Chinese circus *sheesh*). By the 26th, we had problems with our internet connection so all I could do was type in comments at work.

I'll make sure to add the stuff you requested to the bunch of dramas/concerts that I will give to you (hopefully this month). :)

@ jicks - I try to cap the dramas myself although there are a few pics taken by others as well. I find it rather tedious to take screencaps but it's also rewarding at the same time.

The truth is, I haven't really started on Bad Guy yet but I'm planning to leave a copy of it on my hard drive so that I can watch it on a later date. ^^

@ Zoe - Lol. I think everyone has a long list of things to watch and write about... I honestly don't know if anyone's ever going to be able to keep up. I also know how you only collect originals, so I understand why you don't need to take your pick. :P

Btw, thanks for the link to Black Swan. I saw it before Christmas but because of all the holiday frenzy, I didn't get to email you about it.

  9. @ zoe - oh you bet i like making to-do lists! they're nice to... look at, hahahaha. but i hope you finish strong with all your new year's resolutions! XD

@ zooey - wow, that was one busy holiday season! and you even got to watch the circus!!! XD (so how was it? i used to go a lot as a kid but now circuses make me saaaad 'coz they remind me of that U2 music video "all i want is you" which makes me cry every time, i mean, WHY DID THE MIDGET HAVE TO DIE. WHY. *tear* lol)

anyway, thanks a bunch (!!!) for the loot, woohoo! yepyepyep, just tell me when your schedule for jan. de-clutters, lol. next week i'll be out of town to attend a wedding, but i'd love to meet up 3rd or 4th week of jan! XD

  10. @ E.G. - You'll be glad to hear that there were no midges in the Splendide Circus, just Chinese acrobats and performers. There were a bunch of great acts, colorful costumes and Chinese women peddling souvenirs during intermission. :)

I'll be away on the 3rd week of January, so I guess we won't be seeing each other until the end of the month. Thanks for picking out a few more titles. :)

  11. E.G. Sorry girl, I've always failed to follow through with my NY resolutions. So.. decided to do away with them.

Zooey, what did you think of Natalie Portman's performance? You know she's engaged to the guy who played the prince in Swan Lake in the movie, Benjamin Millepied? She's also pregnant. She's been dating him for over a year.

I think the only other person who's worthy of the Best Actress award at the Oscars would be Nicole Kidman. Rabbit Hole.

  12. Love the cover pic! Although a bit late, Happy Holidays, zooey!

    Re: drama trade/adoption
Are you open to sending them to the States or only locally?

    ReplyDelete
  13. @ Zoe - Thought Natalie Portman churned out a decent performance. She was very convincing in playing this frail, confused, and repressed young woman. It was rather interesting how the main character's ambition and drive for perfection manifested itself; and how the movie explored/exploited the idea of having a person's psyche split under pressure of playing a dual role in a ballet. One of the great things about it is that you can actually see how the character gets slowly unhinged. There's that slow descent to madness that gets confirmed at the movie's ending.

Saw on E-news that she's engaged to Benjamin Millepied and expecting a baby, no less.

Ugh, I'm not really that up to date in movies so I'm not sure who's really running for one this year. Guess I'll have to wait and see for the official list of nominees and then I'll take my pick (lol).

@ doozy - Yep, I'm open to sending them overseas. I usually prefer to trade though since it's easier than figuring out how to settle the mailing cost. :)

  14. zooey, I only have alone in love w/ eng sub to trade but I'm not sure if you're interested. If you are, let me know.

  15. Sure, doozy. I'd be interested in trading. Just drop me an email so that we can iron out the details. :)
